Samsung Refutes Tipster

Samsung’s semiconductor arm has denied rumors of rebranding its Exynos chips, which power many of the company’s smartphone models. The rumors were sparked by a tweet from tipster @oreXda, claiming that Samsung was planning to rename its Exynos chips to “Dream Chip” or “Dream.” However, Samsung quickly refuted these claims, stating that the rumors of rebranding are false and that the mentioned brand name “Dream” is simply an internal project name.

The company confirmed that there are no plans to change the name of its Exynos mobile processors, despite competing with MediaTek and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chips. Samsung has used Exynos chips on its smartphones for over a decade, and it appears that the name will not be changed in the future.

While Samsung’s flagship Exynos chips compete with offerings from other chipmakers, there have been complaints about battery endurance issues and thermal throttling. However, Samsung is expected to equip its upcoming flagship smartphones with its in-house processors, including the Exynos 2400 chips in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 series.

Recent reports indicate that only the Galaxy S24 Ultra will be equipped with a Snapdragon chip, while the other models will use the Exynos 2400 chips. The exception is China and the US, where all three models in the series are expected to be powered by Snapdragon chips. Qualcomm CEO Christian Amon’s recent statement suggests that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 won’t be the only chip powering the upcoming Galaxy S24 series.

In conclusion, Samsung has debunked rumors of rebranding its Exynos chips and continues to develop its in-house processors for its flagship smartphones.
