Leaked Specs Confirmed for Sony PS5 Pro: What to Expect from the Upcoming PlayStation 5 Launch

Sony PS5 Pro leaked specs confirmed: This is what to expect from the next PlayStation 5 launching soon

The highly anticipated Sony PS5 Pro is set to launch in 2024 during the holiday season, according to recent reports confirming leaked specifications for the upcoming console variant. Anonymous sources have validated the leaked documents, originally revealed by the YouTube channel Moore’s Law is Dead, which have since been circulated among third-party developers.

Key to Gaming had previously reported on the PS5 Pro, codenamed ‘Trinity,’ detailing enhanced FPS at 4K resolution, a performance mode for 8K resolution, and advanced ray tracing features. The leaked documents shed more light on the upcoming console, revealing that the PS5 Pro will render graphics 45% faster than the standard PS5, with improved ray-tracing capabilities and 33.5 Teraflops of computing power.

In addition, the PS5 Pro will feature the PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution for enhanced upscaling and anti-aliasing, along with a custom machine learning architecture and AI Accelerator. Devkits have been available to first-party studios since September 2023 and to third-party developers since January 2024, with testkits expected to resemble the final product by Spring 2024.

While the PS5 Pro is currently scheduled for a holiday 2024 release, the timeline could potentially change based on the limited number of first-party games set to launch for the PlayStation 5 this year. Stay tuned for more updates on the Sony PS5 Pro launch as details continue to unfold.
