Hades Is Coming to Netflix Games on iOS on March 19, Pre-Registrations Open Now

Hades, the popular roguelike game from Supergiant Games, is set to premiere on iOS through Netflix Games on March 19. The highly anticipated release was confirmed by the streaming service on Apple’s mobile platform, with pre-registrations now open for eager players. Initially launched on Nintendo Switch, PC, and Mac in 2020, Hades made its way to PlayStation and Xbox platforms the following year. All Netflix subscribers will have access to the game for free on their iOS devices.

Netflix officially announced the release date of Hades on iOS via X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, accompanied by a trailer inviting players to pre-register for the game. While Netflix Games titles are typically available on both iOS and Android, Hades will be a unique addition to the platform, exclusively on iOS, as Supergiant Games has no plans to port it to Android devices.

As part of Netflix Games, Hades was first revealed for mobile gaming in November last year alongside other indie favorites like Braid and Death’s Door. The game immerses players in the role of Zagreus, the son of Hades, as he endeavors to escape the Underworld and ascend to Mount Olympus. Through multiple playthroughs, players unravel the mysteries and relationships within the game.

Following its overwhelmingly positive reception, Hades received critical acclaim and multiple award nominations, including Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2020, winning accolades for Best Action Game and Best Indie Game. Supergiant Games is currently in the works on a sequel, Hades II, which was announced at The Game Awards 2022 with a tentative Early Access release date in the second quarter of 2024 on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Netflix Games, boasting a library of over 80 titles available for subscribers to play for free on mobile devices, continues to expand its offerings with well-known franchises like Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. The addition of Hades to its catalog underscores the platform’s commitment to providing a diverse selection of games for its members.
