Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez lead Heat to win over Bulls in NBA play-in game

In a crucial play-in tournament elimination game, the Miami Heat secured the final spot in the Eastern Conference playoffs by dominating the Chicago Bulls 112-91. Tyler Herro led the charge with 24 points and was just an assist shy of a triple-double, while rookie Jaime Jaquez Jr. contributed 21 points to the victory.

Miami’s reward for clinching the playoff spot is a first-round matchup against the Boston Celtics, setting the stage for a rematch of the last two Eastern Conference finals. The Heat will face the Celtics without star player Jimmy Butler, who is sidelined with an injured knee, and point guard Terry Rozier, who continues to recover from a neck injury.

The Heat took control of the game early on with a 19-0 run in the first quarter and sealed the victory with a 14-0 run in the second half. Herro’s impressive performance, including 10 rebounds and nine assists, helped Miami eliminate the Bulls in the final play-in game for the second consecutive year.

Despite a strong defensive effort from the Bulls, led by DeMar DeRozan’s 22 points and Nikola Vucevic’s double-double, Chicago was unable to overcome Miami’s offensive firepower. The Heat’s decisive runs in the game proved to be the turning point, propelling them to the playoffs once again.

With the win, the Heat now face a daunting challenge against the top-seeded Boston Celtics in the first round. Boston, the favorites to win the NBA title, will look to avenge their previous playoff defeats to Miami and advance in the postseason.

Stay tuned for more updates on the NBA playoffs as the action heats up.
