LeBron James' triple-double lifts Lakers over Pelicans; play-in rematch set for Tuesday

LeBron James demonstrated his all-around skills in the final game of the regular season, leading the Los Angeles Lakers to a 124-108 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans. James finished with an impressive stat line of 28 points, 17 assists, 11 rebounds, and five steals, showcasing his versatility and readiness for the postseason.

Anthony Davis also played a crucial role in the Lakers’ victory, contributing 30 points and 11 rebounds. Despite a minor back issue that caused him to leave the game prematurely, Davis assured fans that he would be ready to compete in the upcoming play-in game.

The Lakers dominated the Pelicans in the paint, outscoring them 68-42, with James playing a key role in orchestrating the offense and stifling Pelicans star Zion Williamson, who was held to just 12 points.

While James expressed his desire to win and be a Swiss army knife for his team, Williamson criticized himself for being too passive in the game. The Pelicans, who were aiming for a higher seed to avoid the play-in tournament, fell short against the Lakers’ strong performance.

The Lakers closed out the regular season on a high note, winning eight of their final 11 games. With the postseason looming, both teams will look to make adjustments and fine-tune their game for the challenges ahead.
