The Basketball Tournament, FOX Sports announce multi-year agreement

FOX Sports and The Basketball Tournament (TBT) have entered into a multi-year media rights agreement to broadcast games on FOX, FS1, and FS2. TBT, a $1 million winner-take-all summer hoops event, will have 27 games aired live, including three on FOX.

TBT co-owner and Golden State Warriors guard Chris Paul expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating, “We are thrilled to make FOX Sports the new home of TBT.” Meanwhile, TBT founder and CEO Jon Mugar added, “Across FOX, FS1, and FS2, we will reach more basketball fans than ever before, further cementing TBT as a mainstay on the basketball calendar.”

The tournament, hosting 64 teams in a single-elimination format across eight regionals, boasts notable players like former NBA athletes Eric Bledsoe and Willie Cauley-Stein. The tournament’s regionals will run from July 19-24, with the quarterfinals scheduled for July 29-30, semifinals on Aug. 2, and the championship game on Aug. 4.

Not only will FOX Sports broadcast TBT games, but the network will also showcase unique elements of the tournament, including the Elam Ending®. This format, in which teams play to a Target Score™, has gained popularity and is now used in various basketball leagues worldwide.

With the growing popularity of TBT, FOX Sports aims to expand its basketball offerings and provide top-notch action to fans across the nation. More details about the tournament’s television schedule and broadcast coverage will be released at a later date. Visit for more information on The Basketball Tournament.
