48% women now prioritizing their own health reveals Redcliffe Labs study, ET HealthWorld

A recent study conducted by Redcliffe Labs under the ‘Let Her Decide’ campaign has revealed a significant increase in women proactively undergoing preventive health checkups and diagnostic tests. The study, with a sample size of 1 million, showed a transformative shift in women’s health-seeking behavior over the past three years.

In 2021, women accounted for only 40% of health checkups conducted by Redcliffe Labs. However, this percentage has steadily increased, with women comprising 45% in 2022 and an impressive 48% in 2023. Women across Delhi-NCR, Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai, and Hyderabad are exhibiting heightened health awareness and actively seeking preventive care through timely health checkups.

They are opting for affordable and accessible preventive health checkup packages offered by Redcliffe Labs, spending an average of Rs. 999. Popular diagnostic tests include the HbA1C test for diabetes monitoring, hemogram tests, Rheumatoid Factor (RA) Quantitative Test, and Thyroid Profile Tests, indicating women’s proactive approach to managing prevalent health concerns.

Dr. Sohini Sengupta, the Medical Laboratory Director at Redcliffe Labs, expressed that the ‘Let Her Decide’ campaign aims to empower women to make informed decisions about their well-being. She highlighted that it is encouraging to see women taking charge of their health through early detection and prevention initiatives.

Notably, thyroid disorders affect over 11.2% of women in India, emphasizing the importance of early screening. During Thyroid Awareness Month, Redcliffe Labs conducted a nationwide initiative offering free Thyroid Tests to empower women with knowledge and resources. The campaign reflects the growing trend of women prioritizing their health and well-being.
