The Tamil Nadu Government MRB Nurses Empowerment Association has declared a mass protest at the Medical and Rural Health Services (DMS) campus on Anna Salai in Chennai on Wednesday, to present unfulfilled demands to the chief minister. The demands include making temporary nurses, recruited through the Medical Services Recruitment Board (MRB), permanent, and reinstating 2,500 nurses who were suspended after their dedicated service during the pandemic.

The association also insists on regulated working hours for nurses deployed at primary health care centers. They claim they were promised a solution during their protest at the DMS campus last year, but no action was taken.

The association has raised important issues, with the aim of getting their demands addressed and resolved by the government. This mass protest serves as a form of putting pressure on the authorities to take action and provide a solution to these pressing matters affecting the healthcare system in Tamil Nadu.

The protest is a manifestation of the frustration and unrest among the nurses due to the lack of action on their demands. It highlights the need for concrete measures to improve the working conditions and job security for these healthcare workers, especially in the midst of a global health crisis.

The association’s demonstration is set to take place on Wednesday at the DMS campus on Anna Salai, and it is expected to be a significant event that draws attention to the plight of these nurses and the issues they face in their line of work.

The Tamil Nadu Government MRB Nurses Empowerment Association is taking a proactive approach in advocating for the rights and interests of nurses, and it remains to be seen how the authorities will respond to their demands.
