German Machines To Treat Dialysis Patients At Srn Hospital, ET HealthWorld

In a significant development, Swaroop Rani Nehru hospital (SRNH) in Prayagraj has recently introduced state-of-the-art dialysis machines imported from Germany. Under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), the hospital is now able to offer advanced dialysis facilities to patients suffering from kidney disease. The new online hemodiafiltration machines have replaced the older machines, with two new machines costing around Rs 12 to 15 lakh each.

Dr. Arvind Gupta, the Head of Nephrology Department at MLN Medical College, emphasized that the online hemodiafiltration machines will provide better filtration and dialysis compared to the old machines. This advancement in technology will enable patients who are not eligible for heart or kidney transplants to continue with dialysis. Additionally, Ayushman card holders can benefit from this facility, with financial assistance available from the CM’s Relief Fund for treatment.

The commissioning of these modern dialysis machines is expected to accelerate the proposed kidney transplant scheme and improve the overall healthcare services provided by the hospital. Currently, around 35 to 40 patients undergo dialysis at the Nephrology Department on a daily basis. This upgrade in equipment marks a significant step forward in enhancing healthcare services for kidney disease patients in the region.

The new dialysis machines imported from Germany are a welcome addition to the medical facilities at Swaroop Rani Nehru hospital, offering cutting-edge technology and improved treatment options for patients in need.
