Will banks be closed on April 13 during the 2024 bank holiday? Find out with this checklist.
Today, on April 13, 2024, banks across India are closed as it is the second Saturday of the month. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has classified bank holidays into different categories, and today falls under the category of a Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act. While online banking transactions are still possible, any bank-related work requiring assistance from employees will not be available.
Earlier this week, banks were also closed on April 9 for Gudi Padwa and on April 10 for Eid-ul-Fitr. Looking ahead, the upcoming bank holidays in April include Bohag Bihu on April 15, Ram Navami on April 17, Lok Sabha elections on April 19, and Garia Puja on April 20.
In May, there will be six bank holidays excluding weekends. The banks will be closed on May 1 for May Day, May 8 for Rabindranath Tagore’s birth anniversary, May 10 for Akshaya Tritiya, May 16 for Sikkim Day, May 23 for Buddha Purnima, and May 25 for Nazrul Jayanti.
For those planning to visit the bank, it is important to note these holiday schedules to avoid any inconvenience in carrying out financial transactions. Plan your visits accordingly and make use of online banking services on such occasions to avoid any disruptions in your banking activities.
