’Fully in sync with...’: Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal backs Narayana Murthy’s 70-hour work week advice

Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal has thrown his support behind Infosys founder Narayana Murthy’s advocacy for a 70-hour workweek, stating that he is “fully in sync” with Murthy’s advice. In a podcast with news agency ANI, Aggarwal revealed that he works a staggering 20 hours a day, all seven days of the week.

Murthy’s call for a 70-hour workweek has sparked discussions within the business community, with some acknowledging the need for increased productivity, while others raise concerns about fair compensation. Aggarwal’s endorsement of Murthy’s stance highlights his dedication to his work and belief in the importance of hard work.

Drawing parallels between Murthy’s tenure at Infosys and his own experience at Ola, Aggarwal noted that both Murthy and Nandan M Nilekani, who co-founded Infosys, made significant contributions to the company’s success. Aggarwal emphasized the ongoing connection that founders have with their companies, even after stepping away temporarily.

Nilekani, who currently serves as the non-executive Chairman of the Board of Infosys and is known for his role in the launch of Aadhaar card, has been instrumental in the company’s growth. Aggarwal’s admiration for iconic figures like Steve Jobs further underscores his commitment to hard work and excellence in his professional endeavors.

Aggarwal has previously expressed his support for longer working hours, echoing Murthy’s views on the subject. His alignment with Murthy’s perspective reflects a broader trend of business leaders emphasizing the value of dedication and perseverance in achieving success.
