Dhoni invests in Pune e-cycle maker EMotorad

Pune-based e-cycle startup EMotorad has made buzz in the news with the announcement of a partnership with former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The iconic cricketer has not only invested in the company but will also serve as its brand endorser.

Founded in 2020 by Rajib Gangopadhyay, Kunal Gupta, Aditya Oza, and Sumedh Battewar, EMotorad specializes in manufacturing e-cycles for adventure seekers, daily commuters, and casual riders. The company has expanded its reach globally by customizing its e-cycles to meet country-specific regulations.

The co-founder and CEO of EMotorad, Kunal Gupta, expressed his excitement about having Dhoni on board, stating that the cricketer encapsulates the core values of the company. With a recent funding of ₹164 crore in a Series B round led by Panthera Growth Partners, EMotorad is swiftly making its mark in the electric mobility sector.

With operations spanning across eight countries, EMotorad boasts a network of over 350 dealers and 10 experience centers in India, in addition to a strong digital presence. The partnership with Dhoni is expected to further enhance the brand’s visibility and credibility in the market.

In a statement, Dhoni highlighted the importance of innovation in shaping sustainable solutions, expressing his thrill to be a part of EMotorad’s journey. This collaboration marks a significant milestone for both the company and the iconic sports personality, promising a bright future in the realm of electric mobility.
