Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL) has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the third largest silver producer globally, as reported by the World Silver Survey 2024. The survey, conducted by The Silver Institute based in New York, highlighted that HZL’s Sindesar Khurd Mine has now secured the position of the world’s second largest silver-producing mine, moving up from the fourth position last year. This remarkable feat has positioned HZL as a key player in the global silver market.

According to Hindustan Zinc Chairperson Priya Agarwal Hebbar, the company’s record silver production of 746 tonnes is not only a testament to its success but also paves the way for an ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’. The company’s 5 percent year-on-year production growth is attributed to increased ore production and enhanced grades, solidifying its status as a significant contributor to the global silver industry.

Utilizing innovative technologies and sustainable mining practices, Hindustan Zinc has optimized its production process while minimizing its environmental footprint. Additionally, the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) has recognized HZL’s Pantnagar silver refinery and included it in the London good delivery list. This recognition further validates the company’s commitment to excellence and responsible mining practices.

The recognition of Hindustan Zinc Limited as the third largest global silver producer underscores the company’s dedication to producing high-quality silver and contributing to the global market. With its strategic approach to production and commitment to sustainability, HZL is poised to continue its success in the silver industry.
