Volvo’s owner introduces a smartphone designed for seamless EV integration

Polestar, owned by Volvo, has introduced a smartphone designed specifically for its electric car customers, aiming to streamline the integration between vehicles and smart devices. The Polestar Phone, built by Meizu, is tailored for Polestar EV owners in China, offering a minimalist design with premium features such as a white back panel with the Polestar logo and a quartet of camera lenses.

While the exact specifications of the Polestar Phone have not been disclosed, it is expected to have a 6.5-inch display with a 21:9 screen aspect ratio. The smartphone operates on the Polestar FlyMe operating system, which aligns with the touchscreen infotainment system in Polestar 4 vehicles. Notably, the FlyMe OS is exclusive to China, as European and North American models use Google OS.

Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath emphasized that the Polestar Phone represents more than just branding, offering a seamless connection between technology and automotive worlds. Ingenlath highlighted the smartphone’s role in bridging the gap between a user’s phone and their vehicle, ensuring a fluid and borderless connection.
