Tata Altroz gets this new safety feature as standard. Check what it is

Tata Motors has announced the addition of the Electronic Stability Program (ESC) as a standard feature across all variants of the Altroz, their premium hatchback model. This safety feature enhancement aims to provide a safer driving experience for Altroz customers without any increase in prices. The Altroz will continue to start at ₹6.65 lakh and go up to ₹10.80 lakh, ex-showroom.

Apart from the ESC addition, the Altroz retains its existing safety features such as dual front airbags, Brake Sway Control, rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and impact-sensing door unlock. The vehicle is available with four powertrain options, including a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine, a 1.5-liter diesel engine, and a CNG variant. All engines come with a standard 5-speed manual gearbox, except for the 1.2-liter petrol engine which offers a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The Tata Altroz is offered in six variants – XE, XM, XM+, XT, XZ, and XZ+. Additionally, the XM, XM+, XZ+, and XZ+O variants come equipped with a sunroof. The Altroz competes with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza, and Hyundai i20 in the premium hatchback segment.

In addition to the current Altroz lineup, Tata Motors plans to introduce the Altroz Racer in India. The Altroz Racer, showcasing at Auto Expo 2023, will be powered by the same engine as the Nexon, generating 118 bhp and 170 Nm of torque. The upcoming model will also feature a 6-speed gearbox upgrade compared to the standard Altroz models.
