In a bid to offer more to luxury electric vehicle enthusiasts, BMW recently launched the iX50 in early 2024, a more capable variant of the iX40. The BMW iX50 boasts a bigger battery, promising increased range and some serious performance credentials, making it a top choice for those seeking premium features in an electric SUV.

The BMW iX50 commands a higher price tag than its predecessor, the iX40, but for the extra cost, buyers can look forward to a plethora of upgrades. These upgrades include a larger 22-inch alloy wheels, a futuristic cabin with features like a hexagonal steering wheel, masked buttons for the doors, and an electro-chromatic moonroof, among others.

Despite being a massive EV weighing around 2,400 kilos, the BMW iX50 stands out with its svelte lines and curves, providing an aerodynamic exterior profile. The cabin also sets it apart from other luxury EVs in the market, maintaining a high standard of materials and design expected in a flagship electric SUV from BMW.

The BMW iX50 is powered by a 111.5 kWh battery pack, offering more power and torque at 516 bhp and 765 Nm compared to the iX40 model. The SUV promises an impressive range of 635 kms per charge, making it suitable for long-distance travel. Additionally, the iX50 supports fast charging, enabling quick re-powering even with a 60 kw point.

Overall, the BMW iX50 may come with a hefty price tag of ₹1.40 crore before taxes, but it delivers on performance, luxury, and range, making it a compelling option for those seeking a premium electric SUV experience.
