Honda Gold Wing and CBR1000RR recalled due to faulty fuel pumps

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has issued a voluntary recall for their GL1800 Gold Wing and CBR1000RR motorcycles to inspect and replace faulty fuel pumps. The company will conduct the inspection and replacement free of charge for affected models to ensure customer safety.

The recall is necessary due to potential issues with the fuel pump impellers being improperly molded, leading to deformities and potential fuel pump failure. If the fuel pump module malfunctions, it could result in the engine not starting or stalling without warning while in use.

The affected models include Honda GL1800 Gold Wing manufactured between December 2017 to December 2023 and CBR1000RR manufactured between September 2017 to April 2020. The inspection and replacements will be carried out at BigWing Topline dealerships across India as a precautionary measure.

In other news, Honda has recently launched the NX500 adventure tourer as a successor to the CB500X in the Indian market. The motorcycle is available in three colour options and is sold exclusively through BigWing dealerships. It competes with models like the Kawasaki Versys 650, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, and KTM 390 Adventure.

The Honda NX500 is equipped with a 471cc liquid-cooled, 4-stroke DOHC engine with a parallel twin-cylinder layout, producing 46.5 bhp power and 43 Nm of torque. It features all-LED lighting, Emergency Stop Signal, a customizable 5-inch TFT screen with Honda RoadSync for music/voice control and navigation, and a traction control system known as Honda Selectable Torque Control.

For more information on the Honda motorcycle recalls and the latest NX500 adventure tourer, customers can visit the nearest BigWing dealership for assistance.
