Ford Ranger pick-up truck spotted in India alongside new-gen Endeavour

The smallest pick-up truck in Ford’s lineup, the Ranger, was recently spotted in India alongside the new-gen Endeavour. The vehicles were seen in Chennai, leading to speculation about their purpose. The Ranger shares its underpinnings with the Endeavour, known as the Everest globally, and both vehicles might be headed towards Ford India’s plant on the outskirts of Chennai.

Small pick-up trucks are gaining popularity globally, with models like the Volkswagen Amarok and Ford Ranger catering to those who prefer a smaller vehicle for daily use. Ford Ranger is offered with three engine options in the global market, including a 2.3-litre EcoBoost, 2.7-litre EcoBoost, and a 3.0-litre EcoBoost, with power figures ranging from 266 bhp to a targeted 310 bhp.

If Ford decides to launch the Ranger in the Indian market, it will directly compete against the Toyota Hilux and the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross. The Ranger is available in four models – XL, XLT, Lariat, and Raptor, with the spotted model likely being the XL trim, the most affordable option. However, the Ranger is expected to have a higher price tag compared to its competitors if it is introduced in India.

With the potential entrance of the Ford Ranger in the Indian market, consumers may have a new option in the small pick-up truck segment, providing more choices in a growing market. Stay tuned for updates on Ford’s plans for the Ranger’s launch in India.
