Namma Yatri launches cab services in Bengaluru, promises transparent fares

Karnataka-based mobility app, Namma Yatri, has made a significant announcement by introducing cab services in Bengaluru and expanding its services to include cabs in its fleet. The company aims to provide transparency and efficiency in its cab services, adhering to the latest pricing guidelines set by the Karnataka government to ensure fair pricing practices and eliminate surge pricing during peak hours.

Namma Yatri will offer cab services in various categories such as Non-AC Mini, AC Mini, Sedan, and XL Cab. The company plans to extend its services beyond Bengaluru to inter-city travel, rentals, scheduled rides, and more across Karnataka. Additionally, Namma Yatri has introduced subscription plans for its cab services, offering free rides until October 1, 2024, and subsequently charging ₹90 daily for unlimited rides.

Dr. Ramalinga Reddy, Minister of Transport and Muzrai, Govt. of Karnataka, expressed his pride in inaugurating this milestone event for Namma Yatri, emphasizing the company’s community-centric approach and efforts in driver welfare. Magizhan Selvan, CEO of Namma Yatri, highlighted the company’s commitment to addressing mobility challenges through innovative technology and driver welfare programs to ensure customer satisfaction.

With already 25,000 cab drivers signed up, Namma Yatri aims to onboard over one lakh drivers in the next six months. The company promises fast pickups, low cancellations, affordable prices, and reliable service, operating under the ONDC network for open data and open-source code access. Namma Yatri’s zero-commission, direct-to-driver model aims to increase driver income and enhance customer experiences.
