Honda Elevate-based WR-V gets a dog-friendly special edition in Japan

Honda Access, the maker of Honda genuine accessories, recently unveiled a special edition of the Honda WR-V in Japan, named the ‘Honda Dog’, designed specifically for pet owners. The one-of-a-kind version comes equipped with pet-friendly accessories to enhance the overall experience for furry friends. The showcase took place at the Tokyo Big Sight in Tokyo.

The modified Honda WR-V features various pet-friendly accessories, including a dog carrier that can be mounted on the front passenger seat to accommodate small dogs. Additionally, the rear seats are equipped with a pet seat circle for small and medium-sized dogs, along with anchorages for leashes. The SUV also contains a stroller and carrier basket in the boot, providing convenience for pet owners on the go.

Customers also have the option to select dog paw-themed aluminium wheel caps and key covers to further customize their vehicle.

The role of dogs as companions and family members has significantly evolved in Japan over the years, with a shift towards domestication and pet ownership. The Honda WR-V for the Japanese market is manufactured in India at Honda’s Tapukara plant in Rajasthan, showcasing the global reach of Indian automotive manufacturing capabilities. With a 1.5-litre petrol engine and a choice of manual or automatic transmission, the Honda WR-V offers both performance and practicality for diverse driving needs. The availability of pet-friendly accessories is expected to resonate well with Indian consumers who prioritize the comfort and safety of their furry companions while on the road.
