Citroen C3 Aircross revealed for Europe. What's different from the Indian model?

Citroen has unveiled the new C3 Aircross for the European market, featuring both ICE and EV powertrain options. The European version is based on the C3 hatchback, similar to the models sold in India, but with a distinct design language that sets it apart from the Indian model.

Visually, the Euro-spec Citroen C3 boasts a modern face with a new brand logo, signature LED DRL design, and a revised bumper. The SUV exudes a more robust appearance with slim headlamps and different alloy wheels compared to the Indian version. While the profile remains similar with shared lines, the rear of the vehicle sports identical taillights but a tweaked bumper.

The new Citroen C3 Aircross is built on the Stellantis Smart Car Platform, shared with the C3 and Vauxhall Frontera. Although the cabin details are yet to be revealed, it is anticipated to feature a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a head-up display, wireless charging, reverse camera with parking sensors, and more as standard equipment. Additionally, the Euro-spec C3 Aircross will offer a seven-seater configuration.

In terms of powertrain options, the European version is expected to introduce an electric derivative called the ‘eC3 Aircross,’ in addition to the existing petrol engine. Meanwhile, in India, the compact SUV is currently available with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine tuned for 108 bhp and 215 Nm, paired with either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission.

Citroen is also preparing to launch a Basalt Vision-based coupe SUV in India, sharing underpinnings with the C3 Aircross. The company is set to introduce an updated version of the C3 hatchback later this year as well. Stay tuned for more details on the European-spec Citroen C3 Aircross as they become available.
